Tom is a third year student (2020-) developing microfluidic impedance-based sweat sensors for remote health monitoring applications. He works with advanced additive manufacturing techniques such as aerosol jet printing to manufacture the devices, and undertakes electrical characterisation to optimise their sensing capabilities. The aim of the technology is to bring in-depth health monitoring to the masses, to assist with lifestyle choices and disease prevention, detection and management.
